These stories were written over a period of ten years, and this collection is my way of preserving the culture and heritage of East Indians in Trinidad and Tobago, through characters and experiences we can all relate to. Villages where backyard vegetable gardens thrived and cattle grazed peacefully in the open fields; roads lined with sugarcane on which bicycles were the primary form of transport; or, when a family was considered privileged if they owned a black and white TV - those were the ‘good ole days’
