Uncle Brother - Barbara Lalla
Uncle Brother is an Indo-Trinidadian family saga made up of interlocking stories that come to us through observations by child characters and through adult memories of childhood. The accounts revolve around a central figure, Nathan – an older brother and eventually uncle to the other major characters. In its focus on childhood experience and on empowerment of girls in a repressive culture, Uncle Brother addresses a broad and varied audience both within and beyond the Caribbean and is expected to appeal to a wide age range.
