This book is dedicated to the men and women of the Trinidad and Tobago Defense Force who answered the call to duty and served the nation with courage and determination in its hour of need. It seeks to document the cause of the crisis, the actions of individual players as the crisis unfolded and the response of officers and others to annihilating the threats to the nation.   The battery of outstanding men and women in the military successfully navigated and crushed an unprovoked attack on Trinidad and Tobago’s democracy and way of life.    It is a narrative of the events surrounding the 1990 failed insurrection and draws on, amongst other sources, information obtained from the subsequent Commission of Enquiry as well as personal interviews with persons who were present during the crisis.
