Between Islands - Rhys Knowles

What happens between islands? Relationships rust, bodies get left behind, and desire spoils by starlight. In this marvellous meditation on insularity, exile, and the grey areas of being alive, Knowles risks an entirely new picture of paradise as a fickle archipelago of stunning confrontations, surreal routines, and termite-ridden attempts to love. Set across the islands and cays of The Bahamas, with sandy imprints of Marquez, Murakami, Mootoo, and Camus, this uncannily Caribbean collection brings together - and separates - an eccentric cast of contrary women and troubled men, each in search of their own form of terra firma
