Folklore Spirits of Trinidad and Tobago

Trinidad and Tobago’s folklore is a living treasure, woven from the whispers of our ancestors, carried on the lips of storytellers, and kept alive in the minds of our people. Within these tales dwell figures as mysterious as they are unforgettable, each guarding a piece of our cultural soul. In exploring this heritage, we found countless illustrations and paintings of these characters, yet true photographic portrayals were elusive, almost as if the figures themselves preferred to remain in the shadows. We felt compelled to change that. With the artistry of @ColourMeBeautiful and the help of modern creative tools that allow us to shape the visions of our imagination with newfound clarity, we invited four of these spirits into the light. Here, you will meet Papa Bois, the Blue Devil, La Diablesse, and the Soucouyant—each captured as if they had stepped straight out of the stories and into our world.
